Noble and civic architecture that has shaped the centuries and still preserves the memory and elegance of Jesi today
The Old Hospital, formerly Diocesan is one of the first hospitals in the region created with a modern concept.
It was founded at the behest of Monsignor Fonseca, Bishop of Jesi, to replace the hospital managed by the Confraternity of Santa Lucia in Piazza Federico II, which was no longer able to receive patients due to its reduced capacity.
It was built to the design of the architect Arcangelo Vici and inaugurated in 1757.
It houses a 18th-century apothecary whose vases (more than 200 pieces) are now on display at the Civic Art Gallery in Palazzo Pianetti.
