IN THE HISTORIC CENTER

The Municipality of Jesi has activated a service providing free access to the Internet network.
Wi‑Fi coverage includes the historic center area, along the route from Arco Clementino to the Cathedral: Corso Matteotti, Piazza della Repubblica, Piazza Indipendenza, Via Pergolesi, Piazza Colocci, and Piazza Federico II.

Access is free, subject to registration. To connect, follow these steps:
• reach the historic center of Jesi;
• connect to the “WiFi4EU” network and access the login page;
• send an SMS with “JESI” to the mobile number indicated to receive login credentials;
• log in using the credentials received via SMS.

Getting there by public transport

Jesi railway station is located on the Ancona–Rome line, with connections to Milan–Lecce available from the Ancona and Falconara Marittima stations. It is served by regional and long-distance trains (www.trenitalia.com) and is located in Piazzale Giovanni Paolo II.

Jesi station provides the following accessibility services:

From the railway station, the city centre (Piazza della Repubblica) can be reached on foot or by urban bus.

On foot, the distance is about 1 km and the journey takes approximately 15 minutes. Part of the route is flat (Piazzale Giovanni Paolo II, Viale Trieste, Via Rosselli and part of Via Mazzini), while another section is uphill with a gradient of 18.60% (part of Via Mazzini near the Torrione di Mezzogiorno and Costa Mezzalancia), followed again by a flat section (Piazza della Repubblica).

To avoid the uphill stretch, near the Torrione di Mezzogiorno you can continue along Via del Lavatoio to the end and then turn right into Via Castelfidardo. Further ahead there is a lift connecting different levels, from Via Mazzini to Piazza della Repubblica (for opening hours, see: https://www.comune.jesi.an.it/w/impianti-di-risalita-per-il-centro-storico).

Alternatively, outside the station you can take an urban bus.

The stops closest to Piazza della Repubblica are:

• Via Mura Occidentali, 8 (about 200 m on a flat walking route);
• Corso Matteotti, 54 (about 600 m on a flat walking route).

Estimated travel time by bus: 10–15 minutes.

Jesi is connected to Ancona (the regional capital) and to other towns in the Marche Region through several bus routes.

To reach Jesi from the airport, you can take a train (fast option with no transfers) or an extra-urban bus (option with more transfers).

You can take a direct train to Jesi from Castelferretti–Falconara Aeroporto railway station, located 300 m from the Arrivals terminal (www.trenitalia.com).

Alternatively, you can take the Raffaello Aerobus, which stops in front of the Arrivals terminal (www.conerobus.it/servizi-tpl/aerobus-raffaello/):

• to Falconara Marittima railway station, then continue to Jesi by train (www.trenitalia.com) or bus (www.atmaancona.it, line CR3/SA2 Ancona–Falconara–Chiaravalle–Jesi);
  or
• to Ancona railway station, then continue to Jesi by train (www.trenitalia.com) or bus (www.atmaancona.it, line CR3/SA2 Ancona–Falconara–Chiaravalle–Jesi or line I Ancona–Agugliano–Polverigi–Santa Maria Nuova–Jesi). Traveling via Ancona takes longer but offers more route options.

To reach Jesi, you can take a train or an extra-urban bus.

You can take a direct train to Jesi from Ancona railway station (www.trenitalia.com). The station can be reached on foot or by urban bus.
On foot, Ancona station is about 2 km from the Port Authority building, with an approximate walking time of 30 minutes along a flat route (Via XXIX Settembre, Via Marconi, Via Flaminia, Piazza Rosselli), with a slight initial slope near the entrance/exit of the Port of Ancona (Scalo Vittorio Emanuele).

If taking the urban bus, the stop is located in front of the Port Authority building (line 10; timetables available at www.conerobus.it under “Timetables” → “Urban service Ancona”) or in Piazza Kennedy, about 300 m away on foot (approximately 5 minutes), with a slight initial slope near the port entrance, then flat. Timetables are also available at www.atmaancona.it under “Timetables” → “Urban service Ancona”. Estimated bus travel time: 5–10 minutes.

Alternatively, you can reach Jesi by extra-urban bus. The closest stop to the Port Authority building is in Via XXIX Settembre, about 500 m away (approximately 10 minutes on foot along a flat route with a slight initial slope near the port entrance). Getting there by private transport

It is possible to reach the centre of Jesi (Piazza della Repubblica) by car via the A14 Bologna–Taranto motorway (www.autostrade.it), exiting at the Ancona Nord–Jesi toll booth (16 km from the city centre) and continuing along the SS76 Ancona–Rome expressway. From Ancona, take the Jesi Est or Jesi Centro exits; from Rome, take the Jesi Ovest or Jesi Centro exits.

People with disabilities and reduced mobility can park:

• in some squares of the historic centre (limited traffic zone);
• in Via Mura Occidentali;
• along Corso Matteotti between Arco Clementino and Via Mura Occidentali/Via Pastrengo;
• in Piazza Pergolesi and Via XV Settembre.

Article 20, paragraph 4 of the current regulation governing access to the limited traffic zone of Jesi’s historic centre (approved by City Council Resolution no. 133 of 21 December 2016) states that “persons with disabilities residing outside the municipality, who do not work within the limited traffic zones, must notify the vehicle license plate before each access in order to transit and/or park.”

This notification may be made in advance, at the time of access, or afterwards (within 48 hours) by contacting the municipal office via the toll-free number 800.801.762 or by certified email at protocollo.comune.jesi@legalmail.it.

Access is from Porta Bersaglieri. Available parking areas include Piazza Ghislieri, Piazza Indipendenza and Piazza Spontini, subject to availability. On Wednesday and Saturday mornings, the entire area is closed due to the market.

In Via Mura Occidentali, near number 8 (Municipal Registry Office), there are:

• two reserved parking spaces before the bus stop;
• two behind the bus stop;
• two further ahead;
• one additional space after the “Porticello” passage;
• and two more near the Post Office at number 16/b.

Access points from Via Mura Occidentali and the “Porticello” passage allow entry to Corso Matteotti, the main street of the city centre. Via Montebello also connects back to Corso Matteotti.

At the intersection of Via Mura Occidentali and Corso Matteotti, continue straight along Via Pastrengo (turning right is prohibited, and turning left leads to a pedestrian-only area), then continue right along Via XX Settembre and Via Roma, passing under Arco Clementino. Here, along Corso Matteotti, there are reserved disabled parking spaces and blue parking spaces that are free of charge when displaying the permit.

Alternatively, from Via Pastrengo you can turn left and pass through Porta Farina to reach Piazza Pergolesi (with one reserved space), or continue along Via XV Settembre (recommended only for accompanied disabled persons), where there are:

• two spaces at the beginning of the street;
• two near Palazzo Bettini (no. 16);
• one near Via Bisaccioni;
• and two just past Palazzo Pianetti (no. 10).

All the above parking areas are close to the city centre and accessible via suitable routes.
