Arco della Casa dei Verroni (Arch of the House of the Verroni) is an elegant Renaissance portal in the form of a triumphal arch. It was sculpted in 1513 by Giovanni di Gabriele da Como from a design by Francesco di Giorgio Martini. It was commissioned by Eusebio Guerroni, who wanted to revive the family’s Roman origins through the arch.
It is flanked by two Corinthian pilasters with elegant capitals. The architrave bears the inscription Domus Verronum (House of the Verroni), giving the name of the former noble family that lived there.
