sports hall
Jesi is a city of sport and passion: from the venues that have shaped the history of fencing to the
multi-purpose spaces that host events and competitions, here, sport is both a tradition and the future.
PalaTriccoli, originally named PalaTabano after the street on which it stands, is Jesi’s principle sports hall.
It is dedicated to Ezio Triccoli, founder of the Jesi Fencing Club and an important fencing teacher as well as a discoverer and beacon for athletes who have won dozens of Olympic and world gold medals.
The facility, strongly coveted by the historic local exponent of the Italian Socialist Party and long-time sports councillor Leonello Rocchetti, was inaugurated in June 1987 on the occasion of the play-off semifinal of the 1986-1987 men’s volleyball championship Series A1 between Kutiba Pallavolo Falconara and Panini Modena Volleyball.
It currently hosts the matches and training sessions of the Jesi Basket Academy, Aurora Basket Jesi, G.S. Pieralisi Volley, ASD Taurus Basket Jesi and Jesina Calcio a 5 and artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, judo and boxing training.
On 12th October 2015, the six entrances to the arena were assigned to the names of the Jesi athletes most voted in a poll on the Aurora Basket website: Roberto Mancini, Valentina Vezzali, Elisa Di Francisca, Giovanna Trillini, Alessia Polita and Stefano Cerioni.
It has a capacity of 3,882 seats.
The Palatriccoli is placed in a vast green area that also houses the Polisportivo Cardinaletti with football pitches, athletics facilities and a skating rink and ring.
