Contemporary Art Gallery

From collections of sacred art to Renaissance masterpieces,
right through to multimedia museums: in Jesi, history and culture come to life in unique settings.

The second floor of Palazzo Pianetti, originally the family’s living quarters, houses the Contemporary Art Gallery with a rich group of works of art dating from the second half of the 19th century up to the present day.

The most significant part of the collection arrived on the premises following the foundation of the “Premio Città di Jesi – Rosa Papa Tamburi” (“Town of Jesi – Rosa Papa Tamburi Award”) in 1975, coveted by the Jesi-born artist Orfeo Tamburi.

Moreover, in 1981, during the exhibition “La ruota del Lotto” (“Lotto’s Wheel”) held in Jesi, artists such as Michelangelo Pistoletto and Luigi Ontani left some of their works in the Art Gallery.

The works of local artists such as Corrado Corradi and Betto Tesei are also worth visiting.
