Torrione Rotondo

The city walls of Jesi are dotted with turrets and watchtowers, defensive structures that for
centuries have protected the town and still bear witness to its fortified heritage.

Dating from the 15th century, the Torrione Rotondo is a tower placed in the eastern part of the town walls and has a very dissimilar shape compared to the 13th-century tower to its left and the rest of the town walls.

It served as a defence for both the adjoining Porta Cicerchia, a gate now walled up but still visible, and the wide walled arch rising to Montirozzo on its left.
