Monument to Frederick II

Inaugurated in December of 1995, the monumental bronze statue is located in the yard of Palazzo Ghislieri.
It was commissioned by a joint Italian-German committee, in collaboration with the Frederick II of Hohenstaufen Foundation. The original models were the work of two internationally famous sculptors, Benedetto Robazza and Herman Schwahn, and the final work was carried out by Jesi artist Massimo Ippoliti. The emperor is portrayed wearing a tunic and stole, the typical garb of the Roman emperors of the eastern empire.
