After the restoration of papal rule, he <strong>went into exile<\/strong> in <strong>San Marino<\/strong> and Tuscany, where he lived for some time. There <strong>he married Enrichetta Vespucci <\/strong>in <strong>1853<\/strong>.<\/p><p>After <strong>returning to Jesi<\/strong> with a commitment not to engage in political activity, he became <strong>involved<\/strong> in the <strong>failed insurrection of 1859<\/strong> and was forced to flee again to Florence, where his wife and children, Adriano and Maria Cristina, later joined him. He served as a <strong>deputy<\/strong> in the 8th and 9th <strong>legislatures of Parliament<\/strong> and <strong>became<\/strong> a <strong>senator of the Kingdom <\/strong>in <strong>1879<\/strong>.
