Description
The Montecappone winery was founded in the late 1960s in Jesi. In 1997, the Bomprezzi-Mirizzi family acquired it and, building on their 50 years’ experience managing the wine shop of the same name in Rome, they began the gradual restructuring of the company with the expansion of the winery and the renewal of almost all the vineyards.
The company runs over 40 hectares of vineyards on the hills of Jesi and its Castelli, as well as 15 hectares of olive groves. As for white wines, Montecappone grows mainly Verdicchio, Passerina and Sauvignon Blanc; as for red wines, they grow Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Cannonao and Lacrima Nera. The winery is equipped with modern technologies in order to enhance the high quality of the raw material.
Today, Montecappone is one of the farms in Le Marche managed directly by their owners. It produces exclusively wines bottled at origin. Real wine producers who exclusively use their own grapes, obtained through careful selection in the vineyard, low production per hectare, experimentation both in the vineyard and in the winery, and technical support from qualified professionals who guide the internal staff of agronomists.
Montecappone is synonymous with quality. For years, the company has been constantly present on the pages of the most important Italian wine guides, with enthusiastic evaluations and top scores.
You can discover the company through visits to the winery, guided wine and oil tastings by appointment, with the possibility of purchasing Montecappone products directly from the point of sale.
