Description

Lunabianca was born from a long-lasting passion for olive oil and the olive tree, a passion cultivated with patience and dedication that has turned into a project with deep, solid roots.
The valley floor of Via Montecappone has always been a place suited to growing olive trees. For over 150 years it has been dedicated to these plants. Over time, many trees have been uprooted due to intensive agriculture, while the planting of the Lunabianca estate began in 2016. Today, on six hectares of the valley floor there are 1500 olive trees of the varieties Raggia, Ascolana Tenera, Orbetana, Coroncina, Rosciola dei colli Esini, Maurino, Nostrale di Rigali, Pendolino, Frantoio and Leccino.
The olive grove hosts mainly local varieties in order to represent the specificity of biodiversity and produce typical monovarietal extra virgin olive oils: Raggia, Rosciola dei colli Esini, Coroncina, Ascolana tenera.
The planting layout is 6x6m. A sub-irrigation system has been installed over the entire area to optimise water usage. The care in the transformation and growth of raw materials allowed Lunabianca to obtain the renowned certification as organic in 2019.
Lunabianca is open to the public by sharing its experiences and products. It offers oil and honey tastings, guided tours of the olive grove and free walks through it, visits for schools and organised groups and team-building activities. It is also the ideal place for biking enthusiasts, as it hosts a charging point for electric bikes.
