Description
The structure of Castello Mancini towers over the small eminence dominating the hamlet of Montecappone, evoking an ancient period through a building that is not a true historic villa.
Although a characteristic element of the area, Castello Mancini was built to a design by Engineer Ernesto Galeazzi only in the 1920s. Intended for the Mancini family, who already owned the first silk mill in the hamlet of Fontedamo and the paper mill of the same name in Jesi, it was a reproduction that pursued the medievalist taste in vogue in the early 20th century.
Castello Mancini represents the desire to evoke an idea of the Middle Ages that was very common at the time, with a medieval fortified building, equipped with crenellated walls, turrets, Gothic arched openings with mullioned windows with two lights, exposed bricks and a small private chapel attached to the building.
The villa is in fired bricks, with stone decorations, and the façade is dominated by a coat of arms created for the Mancini family, the first owners of the property. Before reaching the building, you will be greeted by a 50-metre tree-lined avenue, surrounded by tall trees that add to the edifice's evocative structure.
