Piazza della Repubblica

This square reflects the spirit of its times as a modern, late 18th-c. city. The Pergolesi Theatre forms a lovely and imposing backdrop; flanking it is the Church of the Adoration, formerly called of Prayer and Death as it belonged to the Confraternity whose mission it was to assist prisoners and death row inmates, and the Palazzo Magagnini with its large portico and balcony overlooking the square.
