One of the greatest football players of all times, Roberto Mancini began to play in Serie A at Bologna when he was 16, and then moved to Sampdoria club. There he played with Gianluca Vialli, forming one of the most famous couples of strikers and winning one Serie A league title, four Coppa Italia titles, one Supercoppa italiana title and one Cup Winners' Cup. He came close to winning the European Cup but lost against Barcelona in the extra time of the final.
In 1997 he joined Lazio football club with whom he won his second Serie A league title, another Cup Winners' Cup, one UEFA Super Cup and two Coppa Italia titles.
In the Italy National Football Team he played 36 matches and scored 4 goals.
At present he is obtaining important achievements as a manager. Mancini's first managerial role was at Fiorentina. After winning a Coppa Italia title with this club and another with Lazio, he was offered the manager's job at Internazionale. During his tenure at Inter, the club won three consecutive Serie A titles, two Supercoppa Italiana titles, one Coppa Italia title and one UEFA Cup. He has been the manager of Fiorentina, Lazio, Inter, MAnchester CIty, Galatasaray, Zenit and currently the Italian National football team.

The most prize-winning fencer of all times, Valentina Vezzali began her athletic career at a young age. She won everything and more. At the Olympics she won three Individual Foil gold medals, one Individual Foil silver medal, one Foil bronze medal as well as three gold and one bronze medals with Italian team. She also won twelve World Fencing Championships titles and ten Fencing Foil World Cups, with a 65 win record, as well as many international and Italian trophies.

Heroine of the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, where she won the gold medal both in the individual and the team Foil competition, she was Italy's flag bearer at Atlanta Olympics. She won the Individual Foil gold medals at 2004 Athens Olympics, and three additional gold and two bronze medals in Olympic team competitions. She achieved nine times the highest position on the podium at World Fencing Championships in both individual and team competitions, and won also four Fencing Foil World Cups.

The first athlete from Jesi to win an Olympic gold medal, Stefano Cerioni is ideally the "adoptive" child of late fencing teacher Ezio Triccoli. He won the gold medal in team competitions at 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and the Individual Foil gold medal at 1988 Seoul Olympics. He is manager trainer of the Foil section of the Italian National Fencing Team, both male and female, and is sending his athletes to the top of the world rankings.

Individual Foil world champion in 2010, she won the silver medal in 2011 World Championship as well as the Fencing Foil World Cup. In 2012 at London Olympics she won the gold medal both in the individual and the team Foil competition; in 2016 at Rio Olympics she won the silver medal in the individual event.

Long-distance runner specialized in the marathon race, Daniele Caimmi won an Italian title and took part to 2000 Olympics. He finished tenth at the 1999 World Championships and fourth at the 2002 European Championships.

She won the European Championship in 2005 and was Italian champion in 2008 and 2009 in the Superstock motorcycle racing.

In 2001 Alessandro Polita began his career as motorcycle racer in Supersport class, moved to Superbike class in 2007 and won the Superstock 1000 FIM Cup in 2006.

Luca Marchegiani began his career as football goalkeeper for the local team "Jesina Calcio", then played for Brescia and Torino clubs, winning a Coppa Italia title in 1993. The real success came when he joined SS Lazio, whom he helped win one Serie A league title, one Coppa Italia title, two Supercoppa Italiana titles, one Cup Winners' Cup and one UEFA Super Cup. He ended his playing career at Chievo Verona. He played for Italy national football team, with whom he was vice world champion in 1994.
Since 2005 he has been a commentator for Sky Italia.

Motorcycle racer Giancarlo Falappa began his career in Motocross, racing in the 250 Motocross World Championship. In 1989 he moved up to Superbike category, riding for Bimota and Ducati and winning 16 GP races. Known to many as "Lion of Jesi", he is remembered for his fearsome riding style.

Athlete of the Skating Club of Jesi, the skater Marisa Canafoglia from Jesi won twelve World titles and twenty European titles in speed roller skating.
